Chris is the founder of CIR LAW Inc. He was born in Montreal, but grew-up in Halifax. Chris attended the Halifax Grammar School, and following graduation he earned his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.
After college, Chris entered the Branch Admin Training Program with the Royal Bank of Canada, and went on to manage the administration staff of a number of RBC’s bank branches in Nova Scotia. In the early 90s Chris made the switch from branch administration to the securities industry, and ultimately held the position of Vice President with two of Canada’s largest and most respected investment dealers.
Chris’ knowledge and expertise in finance, securities and banking has proven invaluable to his corporate and family law clients. Chris has represented litigation clients before a variety of courts and administrative bodies in Nova Scotia, including: Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, trial and family divisions, Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, Federal Court of Canada, Nova Scotia Provincial Court, Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board and Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia
Chris is, unquestionably, a client-focused lawyer. The client’s best interest, and the unwavering service of that best interest, is Chris’ passion – he regularly returns client emails at all hours of the evening and during the weekends…he always considers himself to be ‘on-call’. Chris takes pride in his ability to recognize and understand his client’s concerns, as well as the intensity he brings to litigating matters on their behalf to address those concerns. In short, their concerns are his concerns.
Chris has three sons, all of whom attend university in Nova Scotia or Quebec. When he isn’t litigating matters on behalf of his clients, Chris enjoys cycling, waterskiing, playing soccer, and riding his Ducati motorcycle!
